Habitat for Humanity Global Village

Habitat for Humanity Global Village is an immersive, international volunteer program that allows participants to travel abroad to help build homes and strengthen communities in partnership with local Habitat affiliates. These programs are held in a variety of places such as: Latin America & Caribbean: Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Guatemala, Africa: Kenya, Zambia, Malawi, Asia-Pacific: Cambodia, Nepal, Vietnam, Philippines, Europe: Romania, Poland.

General Information

Travel to other countries to participate in building or repairing homes and supporting local housing projects. Work with local community members and skilled workers. Trips are typically 1-2 weeks. Trips are scheduled year-round, with groups of 10-20 volunteers. Costs are usually $1,600-$2,500, depending on location and trip length. Costs cover accommodations and meals, in-country transportation, and travel insurance. Fundraising in encouraged, and Habitat provides the tools to raise money.

Eligibility

Most trips require participants to be either 16+ or 18+. Under 18 may need a chaperone or a youth group. Groups are open to individuals, school groups, faith organizations, and families. No construction or language experience needed.
