Simons Summer Research Program
The Simons Summer Research Program offers high school juniors the opportunity to engage in hands-on research in science, math, or engineering at Stony Brook University. Eligibility and Application Information
Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents, currently in 11th grade, and at least 16 years old by the program's start date. The application requires a school nomination, official transcript, two letters of recommendation (preferably from math or science teachers), and an online application. The program is highly selective.
Pay
There is no tuition fee for the program; however, participants are responsible for housing, meals, and transportation costs. For those staying on campus, the estimated cost is approximately $2,360.25, which includes dorm fees, a starter meal plan, and health services. Upon completion, students receive a stipend to offset some expenses.
