General Information
This yearlong leadership development program engages students in workshops, cultural events, and mentorship focused on Latino heritage and civic engagement. Participants travel to Smithsonian museums in Washington, D.C., and receive training in public speaking, media, and advocacy. The program culminates in a leadership summit where students present community projects they’ve developed.

Eligibility
Students must be U.S. high school juniors or seniors who identify as Latino or Hispanic and demonstrate leadership potential and community involvement. Applicants should have a strong academic record and a passion for cultural advocacy and social justice. The program is open to students nationwide and emphasizes commitment to promoting Latino heritage.

Application Process
Applications typically open in late summer and require essays, transcripts, recommendation letters, and a project proposal. The deadline is usually in early fall, with selections announced by late fall. There are no interviews, but finalists participate in orientation and training sessions.

The Young Ambassadors Program is widely respected for empowering Latino youth to become leaders and advocates in their communities. Alumni often continue their education at top universities and pursue careers in public service, arts, and education. Participation is a meaningful addition to college applications, highlighting leadership and cultural engagement.
